One exemplary individual who embodies these exceptional qualities is Chris Schrantz. For the past 27 years, Chris has served as Allendale’s Chief Financial Officer with unyielding loyalty. With the clicking of his adding machine (and later computer & spreadsheets) he managed agency budgets, oversaw investment portfolios, and created lasting relationships with agency vendors and fellow providers. His keen eye for detail and accuracy established a towering standard.
“I had the honor of working beside Chris for 7 years and quickly came to realize and admire how he tempered his extensive knowledge with humility. As CFO, Chris shepherded Allendale for a generation, often requiring significant and sometimes difficult decisions, and he did so balancing practicality with sensitivity, focusing on families as well as finance and believing compassion must come before cost,” says Jason Keeler, President & CEO.

Chris and his Accounting team ensure all of Allendale’s programs and services stay on track. Chris humbly states of his long tenure, “Working at Allendale for the past several decades has been a privilege and an honor. I have met countless employees who place service for Allendale’s mission ahead of their own interests and are truly inspirational. Those who work for an extended period realize that Allendale is a family with a tradition of caring and friendship. For myself personally, I want to recognize the Accounting Department for their consistent dedication and excellent work in managing Allendale’s finances. They are a pleasure to work with and made coming to work an enjoyable experience.”

Beyond his financial acumen, Chris is a caring friend, always checking in on coworkers and genuinely caring about their well-being. His laughter fills the room, a testament to his warm presence and authentic spirit.

Chris has consistently answered the call of service. From reviewing and managing investment strategies and creating avenues of funding to managing tight budget years, he is always there to lend his expertise. His departure will undoubtedly leave a void in the Accounting Department, but his legacy of excellence will endure.
