REStArT Institute & Trainings

REStArTLogoBlue

The mission of the REStArTSM Institute is to further the training, practice and development of the REStArTSM model’s principles and interventions. The REStArTSM model (Relational Re-Enactment Systems Approach to Treatment) emphasizes the re-enactment of relational patterns and the need for balance in our clinical understanding and subsequent response.

  • The Institute provides training at every level of the agency, from individual and group supervision to team-based training and consultation. Outside of Allendale’s own continuum, the Institute offers training in such settings as community schools, foster parent and other social service systems.
  • The REStArTSM principles and interventions are implemented throughout the agency’s continuum of care and are applicable across mental health, child welfare and educational settings.
  • Allendale is committed to innovation and continuous quality improvement. The Institute provides an avenue to research the REStArTSM model’s effectiveness and to identify areas for future development and contributions to the field.

The REStArTSM Institute offers trainings in a variety of ways:

  • Formal graduate level practica/internships/post-doctoral residencies
  • Trainings for staff
  • Speakers who can tailor a training for outside agencies
  • Consultation for schools to avoid outplacement of students through a grant from the McGraw Foundation

A few topics that can be requested for trainings are:

  • Trauma re-enactment
  • Working with Control-Sensitive Youth
  • REStArTSM Principles
