Did you know that three generations of employees work together to achieve the mission of Allendale? Join the Lunch and Learn to identify how to capitalize on the strengths of perspectives of a multi-generational organizational culture and to leverage generational differences for successful outcomes, including a culture of teamwork and fun.
Topics covered include designing a workplace that values diversity, hiring and retaining generationally diverse staff members, moving from management to coaching strategies, and providing guidance with supportive feedback to encourage success among team members of all ages. Learn how to build a supportive workplace for all generations resulting in retention of excellent employees.
Our presenter is Carolyn Serdar, MA, Ed.S, Executive Director of the Aspire Center at Carthage College. As an esteemed and experienced leader in the career and professional development field, Ms. Serdar possesses a rich background in strategically leading a team of career service professionals in advising, teaching, employer development and event planning. Her unwavering commitment lies in helping team members harness their true potential and achieve remarkable success, which in turn will help students become successful.
Ms. Serdar has served in multiple roles at Carthage College, including her current position as the executive director of career and professional development for The Aspire Center, Carthage’s four-year career development program. Additionally, Ms. Serdar has served as the director of employer relations and internships, career specialist, and adjunct psychology professor. Carolyn has worked at private, public, and for-profit institutions. Carolyn serves in leadership positions through the Wisconsin Private College Career Consortium, the Higher Education Regional Alliance, and the Southeast Wisconsin College Career and Economic Development Center Alliance.
Ms. Serdar’s ultimate goal is to build a formidable network in the higher education and corporate relations field, amplifying her leadership in career and workforce development. Through insightful guidance and strategic direction, she aims to inspire individuals and organizations to thrive in an ever-evolving blended relationship between colleges and corporate leaders.
Ms. Serdar earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Theater, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Lewis University, and an Education Specialist in Counseling Degree from the University of Kentucky.
